ITBS testing: Starting this week, the students in grades 1-8 will be taking the ITBS (Iowa Test of Basic Skills) tests. The Kindergarten class will not be taking them.

Electives: All the students will begin taking elective classes every Friday at the end of the day from 10:30-11:30. The Kindergarten class will be combined with the Pre Kindergarten class. A letter explaining the classes and type of classes will be sent home this week. The elective classes will focus on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) learning. Spirit Fridays: The students will be receiving their spirit shirts this week. The students will wear these shirts every Friday. They will wear it with blue or black jean and their black uniform tennis shoes.

Picture day: Picture day is Tuesday, September 27th. Picture day forms will be sent home this week. Please return the form with the background and pose of your choice, along with the payment.

Absent notes: If your child is absent, I will need a note explaining the absence. It can be via email or a note when your child returns to school.


MATH: Review or complete the math sheet your child is bringing home daily.

PHONICS: Complete phonics worksheets your child is bringing home.

READING: Complete the September reading calendar. Please read with your child for10 minutes or let your child read to you.
