Thank you to all the parents who came to Back to School night on Tuesday. Please feel free to ask any further questions you may have about our Kindergarten class.

9/14 mass: Wednesday is the first school mass. The Kindergarten class will not be attending. We will begin going to mass in a couple of months after we have practiced proper behavior for mass.

Spanish day: Friday, September 16th is Spanish Day. The Spanish teacher, Ms Hernandez has a fun activity planned for the end of the day to celebrate Mexican independence. The students will be able to wear anything red, green and/or white (no uniform).

Hot lunch: Alan Traynor’s Crack of Dawn catering has begun.

School mass/picnic: The annual school mass/picnic will be on Sunday, September 18th. All the families are encouraged to attend the 12 o’clock mass at the Good Shepherd church. After the mass, everyone is encouraged to attend the picnic at Cheviot Hills Park – Rancho Park (one block south of Pico on Motor. Picnic area 1, behind the swimming pool). Kindergarten families are responsible for bringing salads (for 8-10 people) and a six pack of any drink for the potluck picnic. I hope to see everyone there!

Uniform policy: Please remember to have your child wear a black belt with their pants/shorts as part of their uniform.

Absent notes: If your child is absent, I will need a note explaining the absence. It can be via email or a note when your child returns to school.

Homework

PHONICS: Complete phonics worksheets your child is bringing home.

READING: Complete the September reading calendar. Please read with your child for10 minutes or let your child read to you.
