We have had a great first full week! The students are doing an amazing job getting into the routines and listening. They had their first Spanish and Music class last week and had a great time. Technology and Fitness/Wellness classes will start next week.

Scholastic Book orders: The scholastic book orders are due tomorrow. Orders can be made online or submitted to me

Dollar Dash: The student council has organized a fundraiser to help the people of Africa.  The students will bring in monetary donations to raise the most money.  On Monday – Thursday, the students will place their donations in the Kindergarten bucket.  On Friday, the students will have a chance to put their donations in another class’ bucket. The money collected on Friday will be subtracted from the class’ total collected Monday-Thursday.  The class with the most money earned will get free dress.

Water bottles: This week will be very hot. I encourage all the kids to bring in a water bottle and stay hydrated. We have water in the classroom the students can fill up their bottles with.

Reading Calendar:

The August reading calendar and book report is due at the beginning of September. Continue reading and completing it everyday. I will be sending the September reading calendar home this week.

Homework: The students have been doing a great job of completing their daily homework. Please continue working with them everyday.

Soccer: We are starting a soccer class for Pre-K – 1st grade and we need to know how many families would be interested.  Craig Hughes and Kevin Riley will be organizing and leading the class/team.  The class will be meeting at a park after school for about an hour, probably on Fridays. Once Craig and Kevin know who is interested then all the details will get figured out.  If you are interested please email Craig directly.
