We only have 2 more (busy) weeks until our Christmas break! Since we have so many events happening in the next 2 weeks, I am posting all the events for this week and next.

Monday Pizza lunch: Kelly has sent out an email to the parents reminding everyone that there will be NO pizza lunches this Monday (12/6) and next Monday (12/13). Please remember to pack a lunch for your child.

Thursday – We will be decorated cookie ornaments on Friday. Please have your child bring in a small Tupperware in order to carefully take the ornaments home without breaking.

Thursday-Door Decorating contest: We will be having our annual Door Decorating Contest this Thursday. I will be decorating our door to look like a tray of gingerbread cookies. The students will be decorating gingerbread cutouts. I will post pictures of all the class doors.

Thursday-Family Fun Night: The 8th grade class will be hosting another family fun night. It will be at Momed on Bevelry. This will benefit the 8th grade musical. Flyers will be going home this week. I hope everyone can make it!

Friday: Good Shepherd Church is collecting toys for needy families and our school will be helping. Please have your child bring in a new, wrapped toy by Friday of this week (12/10). We will discuss helping those less fortunate than we are. We will take the gifts to the church next Monday (12/13) when we walk over for the Christmas program practice. The students will need to bring in a small toy appropriate for another child their age.

Christmas program: This year, the Kindergarten class will be singing “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer”. I have posted a youtube video of the song with lyrics at the end of last week’s KinderNews. Please practice with your child. The students will also be singing a Spanish song they learning with Ms Hernandez. A youtube video of the song and lyrics can be found on her blog: http://misshernandez10.wordpress.com/

NEXT WEEK EVENTS/ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Monday (12/13): We will be walking over to the church at 12:45pm to drop off the donated gifts and practice for the Christmas program. We will be walking with our 5th grade buddies. Parents are welcome to walk with us if they’d like.

Tuesday (12/14): The students will need to dress up for the Christmas program. The program will begin at 6:30pm. Please be at the church by 6:10. The students will be sitting as a class until their performance. The students will then be dismissed to their parents after their performance.

Wednesday (12/15): There will be a Santa’s secret shop set up in O’Ryan hall. The students are invited to purchase small gifts for family members/friends. If you would like your child to participate, please send money with the students. If you would like to send in the money earlier, I will hold onto it for the child.

Friday (12/17) – holiday dress: Students will be able to wear holiday related clothes. It is a free dress day (no spirit dress).
