Tuesday: There will be a Virtus training at school on Tuesday, October 12th at 8 am in O’Ryan hall. There is a sign-up sheet in the office. Parents must have Virtus training (and fingerprinting) in order to volunteer with the students. The training is good for 4 years.

Wednesday: We will be having a science assembly at 10 am. Education through Nature (they bring the field trip to us). The program theme will be “Amazing Animals”. The students will learn the fundamentals of insects, arachnids, reptiles, and mammals. They will also discover how different environments harbor different creatures, meet live animals, and understand the crucial role that animals play in the environment.

Friday: Don’t forget to wear every Friday is spirit Friday. Students can wear jeans, uniform shoes and their spirit shirts. Ice cream will also be sold for $1 at the end of the day.

Sunday: Sunday, October 17th is our annual family picnic. The picnic will be at Rancho Park from 1-5pm in picnic area #1 (behind the swimming pool). The Kindergarten class is responsible for the appetizers. Each family will need to bring enough to serve 8-10 people. Hope to see everyone there!

Picture retakes: Students will have the opportunity to retake their school pictures on Tuesday, October 19th. New picture forms will be sent home this week in case anyone is interested.

Homework

MATH: Review or complete the math sheet your child is bringing home daily.

PHONICS: complete and return letter “Cc”.

BRING in items from home that begin with the letter “Cc” on Mon/Tues. In class we will look at the items, say the name, and listen to the beginning sound.

READING: Don’t forget to mark the Reading Calendar that is being sent home today. Please read with your child for 10 minutes or let your child read to you.
