Tuesday (4/27): We will going on our field trip to the Beverly Hills Library and Fire House. We will be leaving school at approximately 8:30am. Please let me know if you will be able to drive to the Library and how students (besides your own) you can take in your car. If you are unable to attend, please send your child to school with his/her booster seat. We will return to school at approximately lunch time. Students will wear their uniform on the field trip.

Thursday (4/29): Thursday will be Good Shepherd’s 80th anniversary celebration kick off. Parent volunteers are needed for this event.

  • Students will have free dress this day. Please follow the free dress guidelines as stated in the parent/student handbook.
  • The Kindergarten class will have lunch (In n Out truck) at 11:40. Each student will receive a ticket with the order that was submitted last week.
  • Grades K-4 will rotate playing games in each classroom. We will spend approximately 20-25 minutes in each classroom. The Kindergarten classroom will be the cupcake decorating classroom. I will need parent volunteers to help manage the students who come into the classroom. The students are to decorate the cupcakes they bring into the classroom and will not be allowed to eat the cupcake until after lunch. Grade 1 classroom: chess and board games. Grade 2 classroom: Wii/board games. Grade 3 classroom: Wii/Guitar Hero. Grade 4 classroom: Duck Duck Goose.
  • After lunch, we will we watching “The Princess and the Frog” with grade 1-4.
  • There will also be a teachers vs. 8th grade volleyball game.

Friday (4/30): Students can wear their spirit dress. There is no more ice cream sold on Fridays.

Word Group: Due to all the activities happening this week, we will not have a word group.

Graduation: I can’t believe we have about 1 month left until our Kindergarten graduation!! We will begin practicing for this exciting day. I will soon be sending out each students’ role in the program. For now, please practice with your child the Character Counts pledge, Pledge of Allegiance, Salute to the Cross, Good Shepherd school song, and the words to the songs we will be singing. These have been posted on the blog. I have added a separate page “GRADUATION” onto the site.

Homework

Math: Complete and return daily math worksheets.

READING: Don’t forget to mark the April Reading Calendar and read with your child for at least 15 minutes a day.
