This week we will be celebrating Dr. Seuss’ Birthday (March 2). I have planned out fun activities for them for each day. The students are invited to bring in their Dr. Seuss books this week to share with the class. The student will take good care of the books but please don’t send a special edition or a book that’s special in any other way.

Mixed Up Monday: The teachers may be getting mixed up about what class they’re supposed to be in. We will be making a doorknob hanger

Top hat Tuesday: We will be making top hats similar to the cat from The Cat in the Hat

Wacky Wednesday: Students are invited to wear silly socks this day.

Theodore Thursday with Third Grade: We will learn about Theodore Geisel (Dr. Seuss’ real name) and the third graders will partner read Seuss stories with the kindergarteners.

Fun Friday: We will make Oobleck.

We have finished learning the sounds and proper way of writing each letter of the alphabet. This week we will begin reviewing each letter and practice our handwriting. We will work on a different letter everyday. In addition to the students’ math homework, they will be receiving a handwriting worksheet. They should be practicing one letter a day.

Baby Wipes: We are starting to run out of baby wipes. We are using them regularly and keeping the kids germ free! If you would like to contribute more baby wipes to the classroom, it would be greatly appreciated.

Friday: Students will wear their full uniform.

Ice Cream Friday: There will be no ice cream on Fridays during Lent.

Word group: Our word group this week is –ig. This includes words such as wig, pig, big, dig, fig.

Holy Childhood: I sent home a collection folder from the Holy Childhood Association. These can be filled with quarters and brought to school when completed. Any help is accepted and appreciated.

Pictures: At the end of the post, I have posted pictures from the dentist’s visit last Thursday.

Math: Complete and return daily math worksheets.

Handwriting: This week will be letters Aa-Dd.

Word Group: -ig worksheets
