100th day of school: Our 100th day of school is coming up on Tuesday, February 10th. Our room moms are helping make the day a fun filled day for the students. They have sent out an email with a list of items we will need for the day (including parent volunteers). We will be celebrating the day with the first grade and second grade class.

Please help us celebrate by collecting 100 small objects (for example buttons, rubber bands, pennies, or paper clips). Please DO NOT send in valuable items. The children’s belongings will all be displayed and shared. Please be sure to put your child’s collection in a labeled self- closing plastic bag. Remember, collectible items should be safe, creative, and fun! Send the items to school Monday or Tuesday. Thank you!

Report Cards: Report cards will need to be signed and returned.

Valentine’s Day: On Friday, February 13th we are celebrating Valentine’s Day. Students are asked to bring cards for a card exchange. I have included a list of names below. You can purchase cards or be creative and make your own. There are 15 students in the class, 8 boys and 7 girls. Your child needs to bring 14 cards to participate. This is a good writing experience for the children. Please help them pace it and write a few cards each day. Remind them to write as neat as they can since they are giving this away, but remember that we just started writing and mistakes such as reversed letters are accepted. Have fun!!! Treats can be brought to class earlier in the week and I will hold onto to them for you.

Boys: Harsh Bola, Haider Dhalla, Donovan Hardy, Darren Kawamura, Eddie Marinaro, Antonio Michaels, Alexander Norooz, Patrick Yoon

Girls: Eleanor Bender, Tupou Faleola, Pauline Kim, Jasmine Matta, Francesca Mazzola, Noemi Nagy, Katharine Smith

Valentine’s Grams: Student council will be selling Valentine’s Day grams this week. The grams will cost $0.25 each. The students can decide who they will like to send the grams to (anyone in the whole school).

Book Ends: Our January service learning project was Book Ends. We were able to collect over 400 books for another school. Thank you to all who contributed!

Monday: We will have a guest speaker, Scott Purdy, come to our school and give a writing lesson to each of the classes.
