Hearing/Vision Testing:

All the students in the Kindergarten class will receive a hearing and vision screening at school on Monday. This test is not diagnostic but only a screening process to assess any potential problems. If a problem is noted a letter will be sent home in the mail to the noted address on file in the school office encouraging a follow-up with their physician and/or eye care provider.

Parent/Teacher Conference:

Parent/Teacher conferences will be on Wednesday, November 12. A schedule was sent home last week. There will be no school for the students.

Progress Reports:

The students took home their progress reports on Friday. These need to be signed and returned. If there are any questions, we can discuss them at the parent/teacher conference.

Red Bucket:

All the students received a letter last week that explains the Red Bucket Food Drive. Each family has been assigned a food item to donate. We have a box in the classroom to keep our collections. You are welcome to drop it off in the morning before school or send it to school with your child. If there are any questions, please feel free to ask myself or Mrs. Wilroy (Harrison’s mom).

California Shakeout:

On Thursday at 10am, we will be participating in The Great Southern California ShakeOut. At 10am, our school will practice an earthquake drill. Please talk to you children about this drill, importance of listening to their teacher and reassure them it is only a practice and not to be scared. The students will also be outside at that time and will need to drop and cover their heads. (They do not need to look for a table to drop under.) We will practice this on Monday and Thursday morning before the drill. For more information, you can check out www.shakeout.org.
