WALK-A-THON:

The walk a thon will be this Thursday, May 22.

Volunteers will be needed for the day. Parents can help walk with our class, help with lunch, and many more. It will be an exciting day filled with fun, games and prizes.

The walk-a-thon will begin at 9am.

Students will be able to buy Jamba Juice after the walk for $4 for a large/ $2 for a small.

There will also be a volleyball game between teachers and the 8th grade class.

Permission slips will be sent home and will need to be returned by Thursday morning in order to participate in the walk.

Pledges will need to be turned in by Tuesday.

Students will be allowed to wear reasonably length shorts.

COMMUNITY WORKERS:

Pre-K -2nd grades are going to focus on Community Helpers this month.

Do you know (or have any connection to) a community helper that would be willing come in and speak to our kids for 15-20 minutes?

Some examples of community helpers we are looking for are: police officers, firefighters, scientists, mail carriers, construction workers, dentists, baker, pilot, nurse, librarian, supermarket workers, etc.

WATER:

Due to the hot weather, I will be allowing students to keep water bottles at their desks. Please send them to school with some water in order to keep them hydrated without having to leave the class and miss any learning.

FOLLIES:

Our 2nd annual Follies was last Friday night. Our own Nicholas Terry performed his break dancing! Great job Nicholas!

GRADUATION:

We only have about 1 month left until our kindergarten graduation! I have sent home each students’ role in the program last week. Please practice and memorize these with your child.

PROGRESS REPORT:

Progress reports need to be signed and returned.

ENJOY YOUR 4 DAY MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND!!!!

Reminder:

*Turn in the April reading calendar

*Because this is a short week, there will no new word group.

Love,

Ms Kim
