Today starts our new after school pick up procedure. Students will be dismissed from the school yard at the end of the day. They will wait in lines and face the alley. When you pick up your children, you will need to:

  1. 1. K- 8th Grade Parents will drive NORTH on McCarty Drive.
  2. 2. Turn left into the alley near the parking structure.
  3. 3. Turn left and drive SOUTH in the alley behind the school.
  4. 4. Display your “school bus tag” on your dashboard to identify what children are being picked up and to assist the teachers in getting children into cars.
  5. 5. After you have picked up your child, continue SOUTH in the alley and exit onto Charleville Blvd.
  6. 6. There will be NO PARKING in front of the school. Only Pre-school students and their siblings will use this area for dismissal. If you wish to walk in and pick up your children, you will need to park in a designated zone on a street and enter the school gate on Charleville Blvd.

Our main priority is the safety of all students. Your participation in abiding by these new procedures will assist in this happening. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Our 100th day of school is coming up next week on February 22nd. I will be needing volunteers for that day. Please let me know if you are available.

This month’s service learning project is the sock drive. This month, Kindergarten and 1st grade will be in charge. Our school will be collecting new, clean white socks for Operation School Bell. Their focus is to help children remain in the classroom by supplying appropriate, comfortable, and well fitting school attire. A box has been placed outside the Kindergarten classroom for the donations.

Report cards were mailed home on Friday. Remember that these are readiness grades which indicate if your child needs more time to develop in certain areas. On the last KinderNews, I mentioned these need to be signed and returned, however, they do NOT need to be signed and returned. If you have any questions, you are welcome to schedule an appointment for a conference. If you have not received the report cards by the end of the week, please visit the school office.

    BUY A BAG!

Eliminate plastic throwaway bags. Help protect the environment and advertise the school, when you purchase a cloth bag from Good Shepherd. Purchase your bags for just $5.00 each in the office.

Don’t forget to wear your spirit shirts this Friday.
